4-H Excitement

February 6th, 2010 by Steeldust Farm

Wanted to post about the exciting happenings with the 4-H group that is based out of Steeldust Farm. The Fabulous Pemi-Valley River Riders!!!
They are running a Little Ceasar Pizza drive. You buy these REALLY yummy kits from a 4-H’er, you get a great and yummy kit, and our 4-H group gets some money from the company. We are going to use this money to go on our annual trip to the Equine Affaire!
We are also planning a community service project with our county extension office called Hero Packs. This involves putting together a fun kit of stuff to do and writing a letter to children in military families. With the recent loss of a local 19 year old who died in Afghanistan in January, it should bring to mind that whatever your feelings about the war, war in general, or anything like that, the people who are fighting and the families and children left behind are in need of support!

ALSO, for more fun, we are going to be going down to Manchester in March for their GO GREEN night for the Manchester Monarchs!! Hockey baby!! We are all pretty excited about it.

Everyone is getting ready for County Activity Day. In case I didn’t mention it, regardless of how her CAD project turns out, our fearless 4-H leader and president Sam will be going on to States because of her excellent Public Speaking entry!!!

Thats all for now! Enjoy February!!! Don’t forget to talk to a 4-H’er about getting a pizza kit!!!

(The 4-H’ers run the food booth at Steeldust’s show series every summer, and will be working with another 4-H group based out of Abenaki to run the food booth at the Winter Woolies Fun Show that Abenaki Farm is hosting.)
