Around the Barn update

July 2nd, 2009 by Steeldust Farm

Hello All! We have had another pleasure show, and it was really fun! The rain held up through the entire day and that was much appreciated! There were a lot of junior riders, but we are still looking for senior riders, so if you are an adult looking for a fun supportive atmosphere, keep our shows in mind!

If you head over to Deer Creek Farm, which is in Thornton, NH, you can find out information about their 2-Phase event. For any one going, you can print out the entry form there. It is going to be really fun. (BUT IT BETTER BE SUNNY!)

Another point of interest is a woman who joined us at the last show. Horse Hearts of America is a non-profit rescue for horses based out of Colebrook, NH. Jessica and the team of HHofA has a mission to rescue horses at the New Holland auction located in P.A. They also rescue abused or unwanted horses in the New England Area.
Steeldust hopes to support HHofA in any way possible, and stay tuned because we are planning a walkathon/rideathon for October!

Keep your schedule open for the next Gymkhana show, and don’t forget about the Gymkhana practices! If you want to learn Gymkhana, talk to Jennifer. She can do lessons, in addition to the Friday night practices, and Steeldust has trained horses available!

I know there is lots of rain, but keep on truckin’! If you can’t ride, maybe this is a good time to work on barn manners or fears your horse has a problem with, like clippers, or ear issues. Don’t forget, just because it is raining and you can’t ride, you still can clean and groom, and your horse still likes love and affection! (and treats!!)
