February Happenings!
What is going on at Steeldust in New Hampshire in February?
QUITE A BIT ACTUALLY!!!
All that rain and all this sunshine and all this wind, combined with a lack of snow means that many of the roads are clear for riding!! The arena is still a no-go until Jennifer gives the word, but there are lots of trails that have become clear. I would recommend going out behind on the back fields onto “sam’s road” then down towards Livermore. A fun ride that we don’t do a lot in the winter, but it is still a light fun little ride that gives you some new perspective!
Do you have any ideas? Go ahead and post them!
Remember, SAFETY FIRST!!
I know I posted it on the 4-H blog post here, but I am so excited about the Manchester Monarchs Game that our club is going to! It is “GO GREEN” night, so we will be going as a 4-H group, but with some non 4-H’ers too! Though yes, everyone must wear green!
(I assume by this point you can tell that I, Jenny, love hockey!)
We are still trucking over to Abenaki and using their indoor. It is a lot of fun, though those mirrors make you realize
1)how PRETTY your pony is!!! Unless it is in a photo, I never see myself riding my horse. Photos are never life size, and it made me realize just how pretty my mare really is
Next time you ride in the arena (or any arena with mirrors, make sure you tell your horse how handsome they are!
2)how funny it is when the horses themselves look into the mirrors. Most of our horses did NOT like that beautiful other horse in the mirror! SO FUNNY
3)how much those mirrors show off any faults you may have!!! Or how you are doing something right!!!
So, that is going well. We really appreciate working with Lori at Abenaki on this. Makes lessons a little more fun, because rain or shine, we know we can have them!
Feel free to comment with any horsey excitement in your life!!!
